Must I come in Costume Play?
Not at all. One may also come dressed in formal attire, or Victorian era garb. Please be aware that the Victorian era is concurrent with the riff raff of the American Wild West era. As such, the swaggery of a cow poke may also be suitable, but please keep in mind the theme.
If one comes in inappropriate attire, one may be denied entry and will not be offered a refund.
What constitutes "inappropriate attire"?
Casual clothing that one might find on some street urchin or ragamuffin. Tees Shirts for instance. Suits designed for track and field. Naturism is certainly out. Simply use some common sense, and I am certain that will inform you as to what is and is not appropriate.
I wish to pay by cheque
Sorry, no, that won't do.
We take electronic payments online, or you may comes to the MAFI offices and purchase directly with cash or a money order. If you wish to do the latter, you will need to make an appointment, as the office is not manned at all hours.
Or you may purchase your tickets from selected stores at the appropriate time in whatever fashion of payment they choose to accept or in hard money on the evening.
How do I physically acquire my ticket?
If you have not purchased your ticket from a store, you may pick it up in person from the MAFI offices when you have made an appointment to do so. You may also pick it up at the door on the nightm but please bring photo identification if you wish to do so.
I am not of age. Why can't I come?
Unfortunately for you, my dear child, there will be alcohol being provided, people are consuming sulphagne, and activities of a bawdy nature where women may reveal an ankle... or even a calf if they are not chaste. We cannot allow young minds to be corrupted by such wanton behaviours until they have developed sufficient mental fortitude to withstand such temptations.
This fortitude appears suddenly, and without warning, approximately forty-two minutes after one's eighteenth birthday, as proved Dr Horatio Edwardson in his presentation to the Academy of Science.
May I bring my own libations?
No.
Victorian liquor licensing prevents a body from bringing booze, ale, mead, beer, whisky, spirits of a refreshing nature, ethanol, or indeed any alcoholic substance from outside of the venue inside. Those found to have brought their own will likely have it confiscated and potentially asked to leave.
Will there be food?
Currently, catering is not arranged. We recommend people dine before hand at any of the fine Mediterranean or Oriental restaurants in the vicinity. If we do provide food for our guests, we will be sure to let you know and posit such information on the front page.
This page lacks information! I demand to know somethign else!
Yes, my good fellow, if this is the case, your question is not a frequent one, but we are happy to answer it.
